More Brogan....
OK, so I know I have been M.I.A for quite some time now, but I am finally going to make an attempt to get caught up on blogging. Like some of you, I use my blog as a little journal for our family, so I wanted to get down what happened the day Brogan finally decided to join us.
It was Monday July 7Th, and I was scheduled to be induced that evening at five pm, because I was nine days late! I knew it was going to be the longest day ever! Since it was my last morning to, I slept in. I was still in bed just before eight when suddenly, I heard a popping noise and I was soaking wet, my water broke! I was so excited! Instead of rushing straight to the hospital, I thought I would wait it out for a bit to see if contractions would start, and also to get the house clean and some laundry done. (Craig was thrilled about this!) At about ten thirty I decided it was time to head to the hospital, we got there about an hour later, after making a few stops, and my mom had beat us there. We got all checked in, and that's when the party started. My mom and sister LaRee were there, as well as my brother-in-law James for a little, and Craig's mom and sister Aimee were there. My dad even made an appearance! It was so much better to have people there to keep me company, I feel like my labor went by really fast. I was having steady contractions all day, but by four o' clock they decided that my labor wasn't progressing fast enough, and I went on a very low dose of petocin. Within minutes, I could tell the petocin was working, because the contractions were getting stronger and closer together. At about 5, I was starting to seriously question my decision of having this baby natural. The contractions were very strong! My doctor came in at 5:15 to check progress, and I knew I must be very close I was thinking at least a seven or an eight... You can imagine my frustration when he said I was "maybe a five." I was furious! At that point I asked the nurse for the Demerol(sp?) cause I was so uncomfortable and I knew it was going to be awhile. The nurse left the room, and was gone for a few minutes. When she got back and was about to give me the drugs, things suddenly got much worse. The contractions got harder and were right on top of each other. We decided not to take the Demerol, and she checked and I was at an eight. Things progressed very quickly from there. The nurse called my doctor who had already gone home, then got things set up for delivery. The resident Dr. got called in to deliver. This girl was very nice, but as soon as she realized what was going on she kinda panicked. I was asking her questions with no response, which made me panic. I honestly didn't know what to do. Craig just kept saying, "you're doing great" but I knew I wasn't. The attending Dr. asked my nurse to go get another Dr. and a few minutes later my nurse came back with a big man that looked like Randy Jackson. To spare you all the rest of the details, this Dr. was awesome, he told me exactly what to do, and made me feel so confident, and in control. At 5:43 pm Brogan was here. right as my Dr. walked through the door, he missed the whole thing! I am so glad how everything turned out, and I am so proud of myself for doing it natural. Knowing that at any time I could ask for an epidural was very tempting, but Craig was by my side the whole time supporting me, I couldn't have done it with out him. You may be wondering why I decided to do it natural, and it was mostly just because I was curious to see if I could. It was such an empowering experience, now I feel like I can do anything! I have done it both ways and I think next time I will do it natural again. I loved the feeling of being in control, and my healing time was much better because I didn't push myself any harder than I could handle.

The rest of the stay at the hospital was nice, but I was ready to get home. Thanks to everyone who came and supported us, and who watched Talia for us, we appreciate it so much! The next week was a breeze, my mom took Talia up to the cabin the whole week, so it was just me and Brogan. It was nice to have time to get rested, but we missed Tali and were very excited when she came home.
The party group!
