January 18, 2007....
That was the day that our sweet little daughter arrived. I started having contractions Monday night the 15th, but they were about a half an hour apart. By Wednesday morning the 17th (her due date) the contractions had gotten much stronger and were now consistently 5 minutes apart, so we decided to head to the hospital, unfortunately I was not dilated enough and they sent me home, more formally known as the walk of shame! That was so humiliating! We spent the day walking around the mall and playing "wii" at the Allen's. That night we headed home and I spent another sleepless night in a lot of pain. By 4:30 in the morning on the 18th, I just couldn't handle it any more, so we decided to go back to the hospital. I was shocked to find out that i still had hardly progressed and they were going to send me home. Fortunately they talked to my doctor and he convinced them to let me stay because we lived 45 min. away from the hospital and he didn't want us to have to make the drive a third time! The next hour and a half was kind of a blur, they admitted me into the room, gave me an epidural and just as Craig and I were getting settled in to get some much needed sleep, the nurse shouted, "call her doctor, it's time to push!" Luckily the doctor was already on his way to the hospital and arrived 15 min. later, then after 10 min of pushing, at 7:43 AM, Talia was here. It all happened so fast, I couldn't believe it. I am so grateful I didn't get sent home, or I might of had the baby in the back seat of our car!
